An interactive visit-center "Volcanoes Museum in Kamchatka" - "Vulcanarium" was opened in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. There was an unusual museum in the House of Entertaining Science and Creativity "Interesting" in Klyuchevskaya Street, 34.
"The exposition of the Vulcanarium includes rock samples, unique lava flow patterns that convey the atmosphere of Kamchatka's natural wonders, rich photo and video material," said museum director Elena Samoilenko.
The author and organizer of the project was Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, a member of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of FEB RAS Sergei Samoilenko.
"Every visitor to the exhibition must understand what he will see when he climbs the volcano. To realize this idea, we came up with an interactive museum in which the exhibits can be touched and viewed. In addition, you can start the clouds, go into the lava cave, see how the lava flow is formed. Visitors can watch, read, listen, touch, feel. Responding to the requests of the time, we made special stands for selfi against the background of erupting Kamchatka volcanoes, "said Sergei Samoilenko.
The special importance of the project for the city under the volcanoes was noted by the Deputy Head of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Yulia Ivanova.
"The project perfectly complements the tourist infrastructure of the city. We wish the organizers successes so that the exposition of the museum will expand and as many children and adults as possible visit it and be able to touch the amazing world of volcanoes, "Yulia Ivanova said.
The interactive visit-center "Volcanoes Museum in Kamchatka" Vulcanarium "is a completely private project. Volcanoes, artists, decorators, students and volunteers took part in its creation.
"We are waiting for citizens and guests of the city every day, without days off, from 10.00 to 20.00," Elena Samoylenko specified.
